One of the big five and the most impressive in size! Yet they seem to be such gentle creatures but beneath this exterior lay a very powerful and sometimes aggressive animal.
My first sighting of a small herd in a dried up river bed. I presume they were all females not too sure about the little one. The males tend to be solitary when they get to a certain age.
This one seemed to be fairly young and even though the conditions were very dry she seemed to be in good shape

Come evening it seem to be a ritual when small groups came down to the water to drink. It was so dry it must have tasted so good to slake their thirst.
