This was taken at 6 in the morning close to our camp Tamboti. What a beautiful way to start the day of a sighting of a big male Giraffe against the dawn African sky.
This was taken on my first morning drive in Kruger. If you closely you can see the Tick birds on his body. These are his permanent” hangers on “like they are too many of the animals in the park.
On evening we interrupted, quite unintentionally may I add, Mr. and Mrs. Giraffe trying to make a baby Giraffe, so after a few quick shots from my camera we beat a hasty retreat.
As I could not look him eye to eye I had to settle for an elevated shot. He was looking down and I was craning my neck looking up, but that was the best I could do.
Must be great getting all the nice leaves that the others can’t reach except of course the Elephants but who would want to argue with them anyway.
