These are a type of antelope. Their name translated from the Afrikaans means rock jumper. They mate for life and their fur consists of hollow bristles which rustle when shaked or touched, that protects them from the rocks.

Their hooves are like harden rubber’ the male has horns and is smaller than the female. They only weigh an average of 12 kilos. We were lucky to come across these pair that were not concerned about us in the least.

This is the male Klipspringer. You can see the texture of his coat shinning in the morning sun. He looks like he is going to bolt but he hung around for some time.

Here is the female she is larger. Both of them keeps a lookout while the other eats.
